Thomas had his well baby check up on February 11th and was 22 pounds, 10 ounces and 30.5 inches long! He has gotten so big, and looks like a 'kid', no hint anymore of that baby he used to be!
Thomas is curious about everything...and I mean everything! When he wants something, there is no stopping him! We love watching him figure out how to do different things and he is already a great problem solver. If we put up a gate, he tries to climb it and if something is out of his reach he drags whatever he can find over so that he can use it as a step stool. Every time we think that we have figured out how to keep him out of somewhere, he figures out a way around it. Then he claps his hands and laughs because he has figured out something new, and we have no choice but to laugh along with him.
He still only has a handful of words that he say's on a regular basis, but his understanding amazes us at times, and he tries to mimic new words every day. When he can't find the words he has actions to show us what he wants. He bangs on his high chair when he is hungry, pulls on his jeans when he wants a dry diaper, lays on the floor and closes his eyes to tell us he wants to go to sleep, and bangs on the back door to tell us he wants the dogs to come in.
He is very social, and gets very excited when people come over or when we go somewhere where there are a lot of people, especially kids. At the same time, he is always happy to get back to the house and prefers that no one is home but mom and dad when it is bed time. He loves to be read to, and he will pull his books out and turn the pages, touching the letters and jabbering away as if he is reading. He tucks small toys in drawers and cabinets…he loves to hide stuff!
He is almost always happy, and is so quick to laugh. There is a part of us that wants to freeze time right now because he is so much fun at this age! But another part of us can’t wait until he is bigger and can talk to us because we are so curious about what he is thinking! Every day brings something new, and we love every minute of it!
