Thomas is four and a half!

Four has been such an incredible age!  Thomas has an amazing sense of humor, and he loves to laugh and make other people laugh.  He is awesome at video games, and has mastered the games we put on his iphone and kindle as well as a couple of plug and play games.  He is incredibly social and loves going to preschool and having playdates.  He is also an impressive host when we have friends come over and loves spending time with both sides of the family.  He is extremely busy and always on the go, and we try to get outside to play every day the weather allows.  He has an incredible imagination and is always coming up with different scenarios for pretend games.  He also loves to paint and play board games (like Candyland).

Thomas had to have a small procedure done to his left eye to correct a slight muscle problem this month.  We sat him down and explained everything to him, and the only part that upset him was that he was going to have to go to sleep while he was at the hospital.  He argued about it, explaining that 'sometimes it is hard to go to sleep'.  I finally agreed that if he couldn't fall asleep it was okay for him to be awake, but of course the medicine didn't give him much choice.  Everything went perfect with the surgery, and his recovery time was incredibly fast.

Thomas is incredibly independent and insists on doing most things for himself.  When he masters a new task he is incredibly proud of himself and can't wait to show it off.  He also takes pride in being the 'big brother' and loves teaching Tyler to do new things.  He is still our rough and tumble little boy and loves to wrestle and fight imaginary bad guys, but he is incredibly tender hearted.  He hates it when other people are sick or get their feelings hurt, and loves helping out with just about anything.  Thomas is incredibly organized (most of the time).  Even though he gets every toy he owns out to play, when it is time to clean up he makes sure that everything is put back in the proper place.

His favorite show is Power Rangers, and that is what he wants to play most of the time.   We went to the toy store to pick out some toys, but he didn't want the action figures.  He wanted the costumes and the weapons so that he could be a power ranger, and he wanted Tyler to have the same stuff.  No matter where we are (in the house, outside, in the car) he finds a way to incorporate Power Rangers into the activity, and even has his friends at preschool playing power rangers during their free play time.  We had some friends over, and their 8 year old came walking into the room and said "I'm a man!".  Thomas was right behind him, and was completely serious as he said.  "I'm a Power Ranger."  When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, his answer is now "A Power Ranger Firefighter."

He has also discovered superheroes, although he calls them 'save the world guys'.  He loves Batman and Spiderman the most and loves wearing costumes around the house so that he can save the world, too.

Thomas makes sure that every day brings a brand new adventure, and we feel incredibly blessed to be a part of it!
