Thomas is three!

Thomas at 3 Years!

It is so hard to believe that Thomas is three years old! The time has gone by so quickly! He is 3'3" tall and 37 pounds.  It seems impossible that he is so big!

He is such a playful and imaginative boy, and is constantly in motion. He wakes up saying 'I done night night, Mommy' followed up quickly by telling me he 'slept good'. He has to have his milk first thing...it's like his coffee. Then he is off to play with his toys, usually his trains, fire trucks or cars.

He cannot stand to sit still, and wants to do either something every day, going somewhere social or having friends over.

He is a nonstop chatterbox at home or around people he knows well, but can be a little shy when he first meets people. It always cracks us up when someone comments about how quiet he is, because we know that once they get to know him well 'quiet' will be the last word they use to describe him.

He loves being a big brother, and is very protective of Tyler.  He is also very proud that he is a 'big boy' and can do things that 'small brother' can't do yet.   He not only refers to Tyler as "Small Brudder", but any baby he sees is now a 'small brother'.  He also has a "Big Pa" and "Big Grandma" and a "Small Pa and Small Grandma", because one of his grandpa's is taller than the other.

He loves to roughhouse, and when he wants to wrestle with Ronnie he say's "I fight you up, Daddy" or "Throw me on the bed".  He also loves to hide, and he will grab a blanket, cover himself up, and then whisper, "Nobody can see me."

He still comes and climbs in bed with us in the middle of the night, and when he climbs under the covers, he asks us to snuggle him up.

I love having conversations with him and listening to his reasoning!

Me: Do you like going shopping?
Thomas:  No, girls go shopping.
Me:  Well, you just went shopping with me!
Thomas:  I go shopping with my mommy or my mommy miss me.

He goes to preschool on Thursday and Friday, and loves it.  He always gets in the car and gives me a rundown of his day, including things like:  "Some friends got in trouble.  Not me!" or "Some people cried.  Not me!".

Going outside to play on the playground is his favorite part of school, but he loves to be outside at home as much as possible, too.  I have a feeling that even this winter we will be bundled up and playing outside as often as the weather allows, otherwise he is going to go stir crazy.

The last three years have been an amazing experience, filled with laughter, love and happiness.  There isn't a day that goes by that we don't appreciate how lucky we are to be his parents!
