Thomas at 3 & 1/2

Thomas is growing and changing so quickly that it is hard to keep up! Every day brings new questions, thoughts and ideas. I love listening to him talk! He asks really great questions that absolutely blow my mind, but he still uses some of his cute phrases. For example, when he wants to put on his pajama's he asks if he can get 'all jammied up', he calls a water fountain a water mountain, and when he wants to know someone's name he asks "What kind of a person is that?"

He is doing great at preschool. He knows all of his colors and shapes and can state the name of the letter and the sound it makes for all but three of the letters in the alphabet. Thomas loves to sing, and he memorizes songs he hears on the radio, theme songs for television shows, and children's songs. He has an incredible imagination, and I love standing just outside the playroom and listening to the conversations he creates for his toys.

Throughout the day, he is constantly on the go. He loves being outside and going just about anywhere. He ends the day by asking what we are doing the next day and wakes up reminding me what is on our agenda. He especially loves playing with friends and going to visit family, but he also likes running errands.

Thomas is all boy and loves to roughhouse and wrestle, but he can also be very kind and sensitive. He hates the thought of other people being hurt or upset. He can be very generous, especially with Tyler. If he gets something to eat or a toy to play with, he wants to make sure that Tyler gets something, too. He takes the role of big brother very seriously and is extremely protective of Tyler.

He is really into smells right now, and is constantly asking what a scent is. When we put his plate on the table he sniffs each food, and that is how he decides what he is going to eat or not.

Thomas is growing up so fast, and he likes to be independent. He wants to get his own drink or snack, pick out his own clothes, and open and close doors by himself. He asks for 'privacy' in the bathroom, although he wants me to stay close enough that he can keep talking.

We love watching him grow but sometimes wish we could freeze time…he is so precious that we don't want anything to change!
